DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY

With the aim of ensuring both continuous accessibility and long-term preservation of its published content, Intellectual Network Revista Internacional has adopted a comprehensive set of digital preservation strategies:

  • Regular data backups: Periodic backups of the journal’s servers and files are carried out to minimize the risk of data loss.

  • Continuous OJS software updates: The Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform is regularly maintained and updated to prevent technological obsolescence, with future migration plans in place if necessary.

  • Persistent identifiers (DOI): Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring long-term traceability and stable access.

  • Multi-format storage: Articles are preserved in various formats (PDF, HTML, XML-JATS) to facilitate accessibility and future usability across different platforms.

  • Reduction of technological dependency: Technical procedures are thoroughly documented to support the long-term sustainability and self-sufficiency of the preservation system.

  • Active preservation strategies: The journal employs advanced methods such as data rejuvenation, technological migration, software preservation, and digital archaeology to safeguard content continuity and access.

Additionally, Intellectual Network Revista Internacional is part of the Private LOCKSS Network (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and the Public Knowledge Project - Private LOCKSS Network (PKP-PLN). These collaborative initiatives ensure decentralized storage of content in partner libraries, allowing recovery in the event of server failure.

Together, these measures guarantee that all articles published in Intellectual Network Revista Internacional remain accessible, intact, and protected against data loss over time.
