DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY

Digital Preservation

In order to ensure long-term accessibility and preservation of its published content, Innovarium International Journal implements a comprehensive set of digital preservation strategies:

  • Regular Backups: Routine backups of the journal’s servers and files are performed to prevent data loss and ensure content reliability.

  • Continuous OJS Maintenance: The Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform is regularly maintained and updated to prevent technological obsolescence, with provisions for future migrations if necessary.

  • DOI Assignment: Each published article is assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring its unique identification and long-term retrievability.

  • Storage in Multiple Formats: Articles are archived in various digital formats (PDF, HTML, XML-JATS) to enhance accessibility, interoperability, and future usability.

  • Minimization of Technological Dependencies: Technical processes are thoroughly documented to promote system self-sufficiency and ensure sustainable preservation over time.

  • Active Preservation Strategies: Techniques such as data rejuvenation, technological migration, digital archaeology, and software preservation are employed to maintain the integrity and accessibility of the content.

Additionally, Innovarium International Journal participates in the LOCKSS Private Network (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and the Public Knowledge Project - Private LOCKSS Network (PKP-PLN). These collaborative initiatives enable distributed storage of the journal's content across partner libraries, ensuring recovery in case of primary server failure.

These measures guarantee that the articles published in Innovarium International Journal remain accessible, complete, and safeguarded against data loss over time.
